I've just installed Excel 2016. In earlier versions I have been able to display pages individually. This allowed a user to input data on any page without having a mass of other pages visible. So page 1 would have a menu where individual subjects and pages could be accessed by a hyperlink and only that page would be displayed. I know from earlier workbooks that I have which were produced on Excel 2008, that you only had to click the page you wished to view and then an icon on the toolbar and this displayed the page on its own. I cannot find any such facility in 2016. Also the Shift, Command, Right Arrow command does not select unused columns to the right - but perversely the Shift, Command, Left Arrow command does select columns to the left. So even if I simply wanted to hide these columns I cannot do it.

Microsoft Office 2016 cannot coexist with Microsoft Office 2013 apps if both editions use Click-To-Run installer, but it can coexist with earlier versions of Microsoft Office, such as 2003, 2007, and 2010 since they use Windows Installer (MSI) technology.[17] Microsoft requires that any 2013 versions be uninstalled, which it will offer to do automatically, before the 2016 versions can be installed.[18]
With version 15.25, Office for Mac transitioned from 32-bit to 64-bit by default.[22] Users that require a 32-bit version for compatibility reasons will be able to download the 15.25 version as a manual, one-time update from the Microsoft Office website.[23] All versions following 15.25 will be 64-bit only.[23] Office for Mac received Touch Bar support in an update on February 16, 2017, following the launch of the 2016 MacBook Pro models. 32-bit versions of Office for Mac won't run on macOS Catalina; therefore, version 15.25 is the earliest version of Office for Mac that will run on the latest version of macOS.
As with previous versions, Office 2016 is made available in several distinct editions aimed towards different markets. All traditional editions of Microsoft Office 2016 contain Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote and are licensed for use on one computer.[26][27]
Retail versions of Office 2016 for Windows use the Click-to-Run installer. Volume-licensed versions of Office 2016 use Windows Installer (MSI) technology.[29] Some editions like Professional Plus are available in both retail (C2R) and volume (MSI) channels.
The Office 365 subscription services, which were previously aimed towards business and enterprise users, were expanded for Office 2016 to include new plans aimed at home use. The subscriptions allow use of the Office 2016 applications by multiple users using a software as a service model. Different plans are available for Office 365, some of which also include value-added services, such as 1 TB of OneDrive storage and 60 Skype minutes per month on the Home Premium plan.
The user interface design of Office 2016 for Windows is relatively unchanged from its predecessor, Microsoft Office 2013. It retains the flat design that was introduced along with the Metro design language, albeit with a few modifications to the layout, in order to conform with the design of Microsoft Office Mobile.[30] When Office 2016 was released, it came with three themes. The default theme, known as "colorful", features a solid color on the top band of the ribbon, corresponding to the color of the Office application being used, for example, a solid dark blue is featured prominently in Microsoft Word. The theme had been described as useful in making the tab headings more distinct.[31] In addition, both the "white" and "dark grey" themes from Office 2013 are available as well, though no new backgrounds have been added, nor have any existing backgrounds been removed.[31] A fourth "black" theme was added as part of an update in January 2016.[32] The update was not released to users of the traditional editions.[15]
OneNote 2016 and Publisher 2016 do not include the Tell Me search feature that was added to all other Office apps. In response to feedback, Microsoft later added the Tell Me box to the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) version of OneNote.[citation needed]

When importing data from another source, often times the data is displayed in all uppercase or all lowercase text. If you want to change the case, follow these instructions for Excel 2016 and 2013. (Terms may vary between versions, but the steps should remain the same.)

OpenSolver has been developed for Excel 2007/2010/2013/2016 (including the 64bit versions) running on Windows, and supports Excel for Mac 2011 on Mac OS X, with limited support for Excel for Mac 2016. We currently test against Excel 2010/2013/2016 on Windows 7 and Windows 10, and Excel 2011/2016 on OS X 10.7 through 10.11. Note that we do not check our code against other versions of Excel or Windows/Mac than these. This means we cannot guarantee that the latest release will work on old versions. However, please give it a go and let us know of any problems so we can fix them.
OpenSolver is being developed by Andrew Mason in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Auckland, and Iain Dunning. Kat Gilbert also made valuable contributions to the code while working as a summer student. Current development is lead by Jack Dunn from MIT. Development of OpenSolver is made easier by the excellent Excel Name Manager which displays all the hidden worksheet names used to store an optimization model.
Microsoft Excel 2016 is the spreadsheet app bundled in Microsoft Office 2016 (Preview). It brings many welcome improvements such as OneDrive and keyboard shortcut support. However, the lastest Mac Office suite still receives many bad user reviews, and Excel 2016 for Mac is no exception. Mac users experience many problems when they are using this app to deal with daily work. Excel 2016 for Mac also lacks some features (like PowerPivot and macros which are only supported for Windows). Meanwhile, the Excel app is reported to regularly crash or stop responding for unknown reason.

The process for setting a default Excel template on a Mac is similar to the steps above for Windows. Again, confirming the startup folder can be tricky, depending on whether you have Excel 2011 or 2016 installed (2008 not tested). In Excel 2016, according to Microsoft, there is currently no startup folder.
Also, as of mid-2016, the name of the template should be "workbook" (manually remove the .xltx extension) not "book", as described in this good article on Excelsemipro. (The location mentioned in this article also seems to have changed in later 2011 versions).
In Excel 2016 on a Mac, you can actually type letters to select menu items in the right-click menu. For example "e" will select "Edit comment". However, there doesn't seem to be a key that selects the Delete comment item. On a Mac, you can use arrow keys:

On excel tab,1. Insert Word file, but not as icon. You will have a square area that is Word within excel2. In the embedded Word, I will now embed an excel file. That way, excel will not change the name back after saving.
