I'm so glad I found this project, I've recently become enamored with the idea of building my own snowsurf-board. I've built my own alaia surfboard before and this seems like the equivalent for snow :) I have couple questions to start things off: 1) you mentioned that one side of your plywood was weather treated, I'm assuming the treated side was used as the side of the board that is making contact with the snow (also what kind of wood was your ply?--don't want it to disolve when soaking) 2) could you clarify how you made the edges of your board? I don't really understand the terminology of them being "squared-off" and I also would like to know where i should start this edge on the board (perhaps right where the rocker ends)3) did you wax your board after you sealed it4) I'm 6' and 160 pounds and i've seen boards for example grassroots powsurfers that are 140cm long. would this be too short of size for someone my size? I want something that is compact and easily transportable, yet versatile. Thanks!!!

d. I have just purchased your instructional dvd and enjoyed it heaps, I'd like to purchase a shaping kit now to start making a board but I am not sure how that works because the price includes the dvd again? We also offer the shaping kits without the DVD. You can also quote your individual code during the order process to receive a $30 discount.
Donald Takayama was a professional surfer and acclaimed shaper from Hawaii. He began shaping surfboards out of wooden railway ties as a young boy; however, in 1957, he moved to California to apprentice under the legendary shaper Dale Velzy. Takayama eventually began to shape for Jacobs' Surfboards; his visually-clean longboard design became one of the most popular surfboard models in the mid 20th century. Takayama's knowledge and skill in regards to surfboard design have defined him as one of the most influential surfboard shapers of all time.[13] 2ff7e9595c
